My Grandchildren: Living with Purpose By I am blessed with a precious two-year-old granddaughter Sage, and have two grandchildren on the way in February. As I was praying for all of them during my quiet time this morning, it hit me that each one of them already has their unique life purpose woven into who they are. Even the baby boy and baby girl who are still in the womb have been carefully designed by God with innate gifts, personality traits and core values. They don’t know it yet, but each of them is already on a journey that has been laid out for them to follow. As their grandmother, I can play a vital role in guiding them along those paths, helping them understand at a very early age that they are immensely valuable as they play important parts in how their community exists. Who knows…one or more of them may change history on a global stage! Or they may just impact the people closest to them in powerful ways.Whatever the future holds, I want to instill in them a sense of purpose, knowing that they are unique and precious in God’s eyes. I will teach them that they need to embrace their divinely-given gifts and honor the Creator by using them to the best of their ability. I will teach them that they have a distinct purpose, created within them as a “permanent GPS” to lead them on their life’s journey, and that, if they live in accordance with that purpose, life will be more meaningful and fun. Whatever purpose each of them has, I will live out my own purpose, “inspiring joy by awakening worth,” as I treasure each moment with them.As a mother and grandmother, I encourage you to look each each of the children in your life through the lens of their unique God-given purpose. Help them grow strong and follow the journey that is meant for them, the path that was designed before they were even born. Know that the things they are learning now will equip them for something bigger later in life, whether they are two or 32. Encourage them to follow their dreams fearlessly so they can know their “why” early in life. For in knowing their why, they will travel through life with much greater happiness and self-fulfillment.Are you living with purpose? Do you know your “why”? Perhaps you need to start with you!Susan Tolles is a Certified Christian Life Purpose Coach. To read about her work, visit http://theflourishinglife.today/.Share this:
